Tragedy struck Billy, Annette and Blake Nealey on September 9, 2011 when their 14-year-old son/brother Jesse, was struck by a vehicle while on his bicycle on Talbot St. in Blenheim, Ontario. He died as a result of his injuries the next day.

A new friend Rod Wellington, who just met Annette a few days prior to the accident when she walked with him for part of his 55km fundraising walk "Go Beyond Your Limits",  was shocked to hear of the tragedy and knew he had to do something to make a difference. On October 22, 2011 the first Jesse's Memorial Walk for Children's Safety took place in Chatham, Ontario raising over $6000 for the Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village to help fund bike safety programs for school aged children in the community.

On Saturday October 22, 2016 at 11am, the 6th Annual Jesse's Walk will be held at Centennial Park in Blenheim, Ontario.  Please join us for this 5.5km walk and help bring much needed awareness for bicycle safety.
